The curtains have literally fallen on the very first yet succesful edition of Design Nation Berlin 2025, held on 22 and 23 October at Station Berlin. A true milestone in the industry, with exhibitors confirming that this is exactly what they have been looking for: high profile visitors, meaningful conversations and genuine enthusiasm for their latest design objects and collections.

This unique format can best be described as a highly appreciated and important new landmark, reshaping the future of the entire furniture trade show scene.

Key highlights

• The venue hosted an engaging mix of exhibitors showcasing curated design objects and cutting-edge product innovations in furniture, lighting, textiles, sanitaryware, kitchen design and beyond.
• Attendees experienced rich dialogues and trend insights across a purpose-built talks programme with keynote speakers such as Fabian Freytag, Sigurd Larsen & Svend Jacob Pedersen (Spacon & X).
• Less is definitely more: Design Nation’s unique layout was the perfect backdrop for any type of design object to truly shine!

“Our ambition was to create meaningful connections, push lead generation by focusing on innovative design objects and to focus on design-led thinking that serves both aesthetics and functionality,” states Hannelore Caenepeel - Business Unit Manager for Design Nation. “The choice of Station Berlin as event location offered a dynamic backdrop for the exhibition.”

Feedback from participants underlined the value of face-to-face encounters, networking opportunities and physically engaging with products – elements that remain crucial in a digital-transformed era. Design Nation only takes up a limited amount of time and budget, yet introduces the right visitor profile, which was experienced as a welcome change/(r)evolution.

What’s next?

“We’re continuously looking ahead and the team is already engaging with various stakeholders, exhibitors and visitors to finetune the event format, to expand its reach and to elevate all future editions. This very first Design Nation Berlin definitely hit a new landmark in the traditional furniture trade show scene, but growth is the next important big step.”
