Cult, Bruges' newest dining destination, designed by WeWantMore, combines bold colours, rich textures, as well as exquisite flavours.
Reflective steel-clad archways work seamlessly with the neutral toned dining area
A new culinary hotspot has arrived in Bruges, offering a sensory experience that blends exquisite food with breathtaking design, the latter courtesy of Antwerp-based studio WeWantMore. Cult is the latest venture by celebrated sommeliers Luk De Rooze and Kees Dobbelaar and is a masterclass in destination dining. The interiors, meanwhile, create an unforgettable atmosphere where theatricality contrasts and luxurious materials come together in perfect harmony.
Cult’s moody, theatrical interiors set the perfect stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
Stepping into Cult is like entering a world where artistry and gastronomy collide. The space features rich textures and custom-made furniture that defines the space. The interplay of dark hues, soft lighting, and striking materials immediately sets the stage for an immersive dining experience. The heart of the bar is a bold burgundy-red canopy that instantly draws attention, creating an intimate yet theatrical ambiance. Below it, the bar itself is crafted from dark veneer with velvet and leather detailing, exuding warmth and sophistication. The marble countertop, with its deep red veins, subtly nods to the restaurant’s specialty: expertly grilled meat. Surrounding this centrepiece, wine-coloured sofas invite guests to sink in and savor their drinks, while wall panels upholstered in cowhide add a layer of tactile indulgence.
A striking burgundy-red canopy commands attention, enveloping the bar in a warm, intimate glow.
In contrast to the moody, sultry tones of the bar, the dining area opens up through arched doorways clad in reflective steel, leading to a veranda flooded with natural light. Here, the furniture takes on a more intimate, refined character. The steel-clad waiters’ station, placed strategically at the heart of the space, enhances the interplay of light and shadow. Diners are seated on plush, bespoke chairs that give a feeling of effortless elegance. Beyond the seating and surfaces, Cult’s interiors are a testament to the power of thoughtful design. The tactile richness of velvet and leather, the sheen of marble, and the structured elegance of steel all contribute to an environment that feels curated yet inviting. The careful balance between dark and light elements creates a space that is both intimate and yet perfectly in tune with the rhythm of a contemporary dining experience.

WeWantMore didn’t stop at interior design; they also crafted the visual identity of Cult, extending the sensory journey beyond just the physical space. The branding mirrors the sharp contrasts of the interiors, with moody lighting and deep red tones dominating the restaurant’s photography. The Cult logo, with its razor-sharp edges, mimics the precision of a chef’s knife, reinforcing the restaurant’s commitment to culinary excellence. Even the typography, LL Bradford, was chosen to reflect both the casual and serious nature of the dining experience.
Cult is not just a place to eat; it’s a place to experience. With WeWantMore’s masterful touch, the restaurant’s furniture and interiors set a new benchmark for design-driven dining, proving that the right environment can elevate the way we taste, feel, and connect.
